Hi, I'm Ashley Mumaw, PT, DPT, founder of Blue Ridge Strength & Wellness.
I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2011 and have spent more than 15 years helping individuals improve their strength, mobility, and quality of life.
My career began at Winchester Medical Center, where I worked in the acute care setting and served as the lead therapist for the critical care units. During that time, I cared for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, traumatic injuries, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, and other medically complex conditions. Working with these individuals gave me a firsthand appreciation for how important strength, mobility, balance, and physical resilience are to long-term health and independence.
Today, I continue my work as a physical therapist with Warren County Public Schools, helping children with disabilities access and participate in their educational environment. Whether working with critically ill adults or children with unique needs, one thing has remained constant throughout my career: movement matters.
Throughout my years as a physical therapist, I have seen what happens when people lose strength, mobility, and confidence in their bodies. I have also seen the incredible impact that strength training can have on health, independence, and quality of life.
I created Blue Ridge Strength & Wellness to help adults take a proactive approach to their health before limitations arise. My goal is to bridge the gap between healthcare and fitness by providing individualized strength coaching rooted in movement assessment, evidence-based exercise, and ongoing support.
This program is about more than workouts. It's about helping people build strength, improve balance, move with confidence, support metabolic health, and continue doing the things they love for years to come.
I believe it's never too late to get stronger, and I'm passionate about helping others discover what they're capable of achieving.
Protect Muscle. Build Strength. Support Metabolic Health.
